- Page 3: Overview The Acer Wave 7 is a dual-band BE6400 Wi-Fi 7 wireless router. It features a user-friendly setup process via a 1-2-3 wizard. It supports 2.4GHz + 5GHz or 2.4GHz + 6GHz configurations. Wi-Fi 7’s Multi-Link Operation (MLO) enhances throughput and reduces latency. The router supports mesh automatic pairing for seamless connectivity. It offers flexible role switching for enhanced usability. Additional features include port forwarding profiles and Hybrid QoS. The Acer Wave 7 has a sleek, modern design with discreet LED indicators. It includes a VPN feature for secure internet browsing. The design is functional and attractive for home or office use.
- Page 4: Plug into an outlet. Plug-in Internet cable. Connect to Predator T7 Wi-Fi. Important info is at the back of the device. The device can be either setup via Predator Connect mobile App or the browser web admin. Use a mobile device camera to scan the QR code below. Download the Predator Connect mobile App via Play Store or App Store. Open the Predator Connect Mobile App and follow the steps for registering an account. Enable the mobile Wi-Fi function and scan the device QR-code printed on the back label. Device setup completed.
- Page 5: Setup the router via browser: Please make sure that the wireless function on your laptop is already enabled. Check the device’s back label, and find the router’s default SSID and password and then connect. Open the browser on your laptop/desktop, input the device web admin URL. The device will automatically redirect to a quick setup wizard. Follow the easy steps and get ready to access the internet. The admin login password requires modification within the setup wizard for first-time use. The router web admin portal will automatically lock after five consecutive incorrect attempts. The SSID Wi-Fi password can’t be the same as the admin login password. Both App & browser can help router to do quick setup. Web UI can execute all functions and settings of the router. Mobile App allows the user to remotely control some functions of the router and receive notifications.
- Page 6: Initial configuration Please log in to the Acer Wave 7 Web Portal using the current valid Admin password. You can select the language of Web UI by clicking on the drop-down arrow. Please enter your login password to access the dashboard and settings of your Acer Wave 7. The router will provide step-by-step instructions to help you set up and configure your internet access and basic network settings. You can also scan the QR code on the login screen using your Android or iPhone to download the mobile app for remote router management.
- Page 7: Dashboard After logging in successfully, the Acer Wave 7 dashboard will display the following key information. Connection status: displays the current status of your Internet connection. WAN status: displays WAN connectivity, download/upload speeds, and the WAN IP address.
- Page 8: Wi-Fi status displays the number of wireless client devices connected to the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands. By enabling band steering, the router monitors and manages the frequency band allocation within the Wi-Fi network. LAN status quickly indicates the status of LAN ports. The Acer Wave 7 has one WAN port, one Game port, and one LAN port. The icon on the far right represents the number of devices connected to the Wave 7 router. System uptime displays the system uptime since the last reboot. Connected devices displays the number of client devices connected to your Wave 7 via Wi-Fi or LAN. You can modify a device's name by clicking on the pencil icon. This tab shows the client device name, IP address assigned by the router, MAC address, connection mode, and the duration of the device's connection to the router. You can also block a device from accessing the Internet by clicking the block button.
- Page 9: Network traffic indicates the real-time status of the download and upload speeds across the WAN. Network speed test is powered by Ookla. Pressing the GO button tests the speed of the WAN connectivity. You can manually select a server by clicking on the dropdown arrow to display available servers. Clicking the GO button will test the network speed and display the results. It will test and clearly display the network download and upload speeds in Mbps, ping rate, and jitter in milliseconds. After viewing the speed test results, you have the option to run the test again.
- Page 10: Hybrid QoS integrates both application and device prioritization. A Killer-Enabled PC can assign priority to applications and send packets with DSCP values to the Acer Wave 7 router. The router will classify these packets and prioritize different applications. For devices without Killer support, the Acer Wave 7 can recognize various devices on the network and allocate priority groups based on default settings or manual adjustments. Device identification requires the network security engine to be enabled. Application Priority uses the DSCP value in the IP header for packet classification. Laptops and desktops with Killer technology categorize traffic into four priority levels: Extreme, High, Normal, and Low. A Killer-Enabled PC is automatically set to extreme priority. Users can drag and drop connected clients into the desired priority level, and the changes will take effect immediately. To configure upload and download bandwidth, please contact your ISP for the exact values. QoS will allocate bandwidth according to the weighting percentage of each priority queue.
- Page 11: You may select “use default configuration” and click on “Apply bandwidth.” You can select “setting Otherwise, manually” and enter the required upload and download bandwidth with priority weighting. To enable maximum router performance with NAT acceleration and without bandwidth limitations, please select the Max Throughput option.
- Page 12: Quick setup The Acer Wave 7 can operate as a standalone Wi-Fi router or establish a mesh network. In router mode, connect one end of the RJ-45 cable to your DSL or cable modem and the other end to the Acer Wave 7's WAN port. Connect your device to Acer Wave 7 via Wi-Fi or LAN cable. To create a mesh network, set one router as the Mesh Controller and another router as the Mesh Agent. It is recommended not to connect more than two agents in series wirelessly for possible performance increase. You can connect multiple agents behind the controller. You can use LAN cables to connect more than two agents in series.
- Page 13: Here are the steps to create a mesh network. Go to Quick Setup and configure the main router as the Mesh Controller. Power on the other Predator router and set it as the Mesh Agent. There are two methods to add an agent to a Mesh network. Press the WPS button on both devices simultaneously for 2 seconds. Connect the agent to the controller using a LAN cable. If the agent successfully connects to the controller, the LED will blink blue. The Blue color means RSSI is good, Green color means RSSI is normal, Orange color means RSSI is poor, and Red color means disconnected. In one agent topology, a controller is connected with one agent, and the medium between a controller and the agent can be wireless or wired connectivity. It is always recommended to place an agent close to the controller.
- Page 14: Star topology involves a controller connected to three agents, with connectivity options being either wireless or wired. The T7c shipment includes three packaging types: 1-pack, 2-pack, and 3-pack. The 2-pack and 3-pack configurations support automatic mesh networking upon power-up. One unit is pre-configured as the controller, while the others are configured as agents before shipment. T7c mesh pairs automatically. The default settings in the web UI may vary based on the purchased package configuration.
- Page 15: There are some limitations in our mesh which are listed below: Due to the adoption of front-haul and backhaul sharing bandwidth to connect various nodes in the Mesh network, if the Mesh agent is in a daisy-chain configuration, each layer of connected nodes needs to simultaneously handle communication with both upper-layer nodes and lower-level devices. We recommend that users assemble the Mesh network using Ethernet cables to connect the nodes to avoid rate loss due to shared bandwidth. If users must connect the nodes wirelessly, we suggest forming a star topology network to prevent significant rate reduction caused by multi-tiered connections. All devices are factory-defaulted as routers. Users can change the device role through Quick Setup. Changing the device role requires restoring the device to its factory settings before the role change can be made. Mesh supports WPS Onboarding, but in cases where connection is hindered due to environmental interference, it's recommended to move the agent closer to the controller. If the Mesh Wi-Fi SSID or password is changed in an existing Mesh network, agents will apply the new configuration after the synchronization process is done. If the agent does not apply the new configuration successfully or is in offline status, it must go through the onboarding process with the controller again.
- Page 16: WAN Ping allows the WAN port to respond to ping requests from the Internet. For enhanced security, keep the WAN Ping feature turned OFF. Firewall rules can be set up to accept or block network requests from the Internet. To configure a firewall rule, enter the name, source and destination ports, IP addresses, protocol, target, and status information. Port Forwarding enables external users to connect to LAN services using various protocols. To add an application for Port Forwarding, select the desired service and enter the LAN IP address. Choose a service profile from the Common Services tab to automatically display its details. Select the status of the service as ON or OFF before applying the changes. Click the (+) icon to add a new firewall rule or application. Ensure to click the “Apply” button to activate the service.
- Page 17: VPN server setup allows for remote VPN connection over the Internet. The router offers OpenVPN as a VPN service. Before enabling the VPN server, a certificate must be generated. Once set up, the VPN connection status will display connection type, remote and local IP addresses, and connection duration. OpenVPN is an SSL VPN that uses a selected UDP or TCP port with flexible configuration options. User access options include Home Network and Internet, as well as Home Network only. Users can export the OpenVPN configuration file (client.ovpn). To configure OpenVPN services, enter WAN IP address, service port, VPN subnet, and VPN netmask. A DDNS service assigns a fixed domain name to the router’s dynamic IP address. Register with a DDNS provider such as Dyn.com, No-IP, Google Domains, or Cloudflare.com.
- Page 18: DDNS and WAN status will be displayed once the DDNS information is entered. Wi-Fi status displays key information such as Wi-Fi SSID, SSID broadcast, security, channel, connected devices, gateway address, and MAC address of 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands. Wi-Fi 7’s MLO (Multi-Link Operation) allows devices to simultaneously transmit and receive data across various frequency bands and channels. This capability enables the new standard to achieve and maintain 1ms latency for data-intensive real-time applications. Connecting to an MLO network enhances throughput and improves network efficiency. When the mesh network is activated, the backhaul settings between the controller and the agent default to MLO’s 5G and 6G bands. The Mesh Wi-Fi tab displays information about the Mesh Wi-Fi SSID and password. Band steering is enabled by default, automatically connecting devices to the optimal Wi-Fi frequency.
- Page 19: Wi-Fi MAC filter blocks devices from accessing the Internet. You can add up to 32 devices to the MAC filter. Smart home Wi-Fi can be enabled or disabled on this tab. Guest Wi-Fi provides information about the Internet connection for guests. It is suggested to change the default Guest Wi-Fi passwords for security reasons. Automatic Channel Selection optimizes channel assignment dynamically. ACS selects the best working channel with the least traffic. There will be a small delay during the ACS process. Check your device’s wireless connection after the ACS process is completed. ACS is not applicable if all conditions are not met.
- Page 20: Three bands (2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz) are configured as fixed channels. ACS works in a mesh mode, triggering channel planning. On the LAN status page, you can view the status of each LAN port, including its associated IP address, MAC address, and DHCP server. The Acer Wave 7 features one game port and two LAN ports, with one LAN port also serving as a WAN port. The LAN setting tab allows you to configure the LAN IP gateway address and toggle the DHCP server feature on or off. You can enter the gateway address and subnet mask. The DHCP server assigns IP addresses, default gateways, and other network parameters to client devices. The following subnets are reserved for default services and should not be used as gateway addresses: 192.168.7.x (IPsec VPN), 192.168.8.x (OpenVPN), 192.168.10.x (Guest Wi-Fi).
- Page 21: IPv6 settings can be configured from the tab. The Acer Wave 7 supports various IPv6 modes including DHCPv6 and static IPv6. By default, these connection modes are disabled. Consult your local Internet Service Provider before enabling these options. The Home Network Security tab includes network security settings and parental control features. Acceptance of the Trend Micro license agreement is required to enable these features. The network security setting tab contains information powered by Trend Micro. You can turn on/off the security engine and enable protection against malicious sites. Malicious site blocking helps protect your computer from Trojan infections. The Trend Micro Web Reputation Service identifies malicious URLs for user action.
- Page 22: By enabling the network attack blocking feature, the router detects the infected devices and blocks its network behavior to prevent infection in other devices. Enabling the IoT security protection feature detects and blocks harmful connections from compromised IoT devices using Trend Micro’s smart protection network. This feature utilizes a continuously updated IoT device reputation database to prevent false connections and ensure network security. Parental control allows you to control and block unwanted sites on specific devices. You can enable or disable URL control.
- Page 23: Clicking the (+) icon will open a window where you can enter details for the device list, including the device name, MAC address, URL, status, and Internet access time limits. If the end time is earlier than the start time, the block period will extend to the next day. If the start time is the same as the end time, the block will apply for the entire day. In this tab, you can view the different operation modes of the router. This is basically the same view as we have in the quick setup, as we can set the operation mode from here.
- Page 24: Login password allows you to change the password of your Predator Connect T7c. You need to enter your current password first to create a new password. Use a strong password to keep it secure. System time tab allows you to synchronize the device time with the system time by enabling Automatically set time zone. Enabling daylight savings time will adjust the time according to the time zone. Languages tab lets you select the language of your Acer Wave 7. Backup and restore tab provides options to save the configuration. Click on Backup to backup current device configuration, which is saved to your 'Downloads' folder on both Windows and MAC OS. Instructions for restoring the configuration are also available.
- Page 25: Click Browse to select a file. Click Restore. It shows key device information of Acer Wave 7, such as device name, serial number, firmware version, and web version. From this tab, you can click on “Restart device” to reboot the router and click on “Factory data reset” to restore the factory default settings. Please check if you bind your device with Predator Connect Mobile App. After the factory reset, please don’t forget to unbind the device from the mobile app. In this tab, you can check the existing firmware version and click on “check new” to see if there is an update available. You may click on the top right icon “New firmware available” to upgrade the Predator Connect T7 with the latest firmware.
- Page 26: System logs consist of general logs and Wi-Fi logs. It will display the recent 100 activities you have done with the router. You can save the system logs by clicking the “Save log” button. The main purpose of saving logs is to allow the logs to be sent back to Acer for analysis if there are issues encountered. This tab displays information about LED colors and their indications. These LED indicators will help you understand router behavior. Enabling LED night mode only dims the device’s luminance. Please check if you have already set up the correct time zone before enabling this option. You can set up the daily schedule as needed.
- Page 27: Download the mobile app by scanning the QR code in the App download tab. The app allows for quick setup assistance. Users can control the router remotely. Notifications include router internet disconnection. Notifications also include USB storage removal.
- Page 28: Troubleshooting This section outlines common issues you may encounter and provides a sequence to restart your device and network. Turn off the modem and unplug the power cord. Plug the power cord back in and turn on the modem. Wait two minutes for the modem's LED to become steady. Wait for the device's upper deck main LED to show a steady breathing pattern. What can I do if I forget my wireless password? Connect to the T7 router via Ethernet cable LAN. Visit the device portal and login admin. Go to Wi-Fi -> Basic settings/Retrieve or reset the Wi-Fi passwords. What can I do if I forget the router’s web portal admin password? Reset the device by pressing and holding the reset button until the LED starts blinking white. Once the device restores to factory settings, log in to the web admin portal using the admin password found on the label at the bottom of the device. What can I do if I can’t log into the router’s web admin portal? Check whether the client-allocated IP and DNS server IPs both are with the same subnet and gateway. Clean the browser cookies or use private/Incognito mode to access the router admin.
- Page 29: Factory default settings include the router web admin URL and login password. The local network settings specify the gateway address as 192.168.76.1 and the subnet mask as 255.255.255.0. The DHCP server is also set to 192.168.76.1, with a DHCP range from 192.168.76.100 to 192.168.76.254. Wireless LAN settings include SSIDs for 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands. Security protocols for the wireless networks are WPA2/WPA3 for 2.4GHz and 5GHz, and WPA3 for 6GHz. SSID broadcast is enabled, and RF channels are set to auto for all bands. The default operation mode is with AX enabled, and guest Wi-Fi is disabled. Home network security settings are also mentioned.

This section outlines the safety precautions for using the device. Condition of use The device is not water-resistant. Please protect the device from water or moisture and do not touch the device with wet hands. Keep the device and accessories in a cool, well-ventilated area and away from direct sunlight. Put your device in places beyond the reach of children. Do not use your device at places for medical treatment where wireless device use is prohibited. To reduce the risk of accidents, do not use your device while driving. EE recommends using the charger supplied with your device. Cleaning and maintenance Use a clean, soft, and dry cloth to clean the device and accessories. Disposal instructions Do not throw this electronic device into the trash when discarding. Please recycle.
- Page 33: Ethernet cable line safety Disconnect all Ethernet cable lines from the equipment when not in use and/or before servicing. To avoid the risk of electric shock from lightning, do not connect the Ethernet cable line during thunderstorms. Medical devices The operation of radio transmitting equipment may interfere with inadequately protected medical devices. Consult a physician or the manufacturer of the medical device regarding RF energy shielding. Turn off your device in health care facilities when regulations instruct you to do so. Pacemaker manufacturers recommend maintaining a minimum separation of 15.3 centimeters (6 inches) from wireless devices. Persons with pacemakers should keep the device more than 15.3 centimeters from the pacemaker and not carry it near when switched on. Some digital wireless devices may interfere with hearing aids; consult your service provider if interference occurs. Vehicles RF signals can affect improperly installed electronic systems in motor vehicles. Only qualified personnel should service or install the device in a vehicle. Do not store flammable liquids, gases, or explosive materials in the same compartment as the device. Improper installation of in-vehicle wireless equipment can cause serious injury if the airbag inflates. Using your device while flying in an aircraft is prohibited.
