- Page 2: Features of the 834-5 gateway include a Gigabit Ethernet WAN interface and multiple subscriber interfaces. The product is intended for indoor use only, and all connections from outside the building must be disconnected prior to use. Inspect the gateway for damage before installation and file a claim with the carrier if necessary. No special tools are required for installation, but a #2 Phillips-head screwdriver is needed for wall mounting. There are two installation options for the 834-5: desktop and wall mount. For desktop installation, maintain recommended distances from household appliances to reduce interference. Microwave ovens should be placed at least 30 feet away from the gateway. Various household appliances have specific recommended minimum distances to minimize interference. The package includes the ADTRAN 834-5 WiFi 5 Gigabit Router and a 12V DC power adapter. Refer to national, state, and local electrical codes for installation requirements.
