NOTE: These sanders are not to be used in drywall
applications. Using a sanding screen (e.g., screen used
for sanding drywall) directly on the hook and loop pad
will not hold and will damage the hooks on the pad. The
hooks on the pad will wear very rapidly if left in contact
with the work surface while the tool is operating.
The power tool has been designed to operate over a
long period of time with a minimum of maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper
tool care and regular cleaning.

Batteries and the Environment
Dust Extraction
Proper Hand Position - (Fig. 8)
This unit uses Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) batteries.
When battery pack needs replacing, we
recommend the following: Discharge the energy
from the batteries by running them down
completely and then remove from the tool.
WARNING: Since woodworking with
a sander produces dust, always install a dust bag
designed in compliance with the applicable directives
regarding dust emission.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious
personal injury, ALWAYS use proper hand position as
shown.
WARNING: Do not at any time let brake
fluids, gasoline, petroleum based products, penetrating
oils, etc., come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals
can damage, weaken or destroy plastic which may result
in serious personal injury.
Li-Ion cells are recyclable so do not throw them away
with household waste. They may end up in an incinerator
or landfill, which must be avoided.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious
personal injury, ALWAYS hold securely in anticipation of
a sudden reaction.
WARNING: Do not use a dust bag or vacuum
extractor without proper spark protection when sanding
metal. Your sander has two dust extraction methods: a
built-in port which allows either the supplied dust box or
a shop vacuum system to be connected.
Electric tools used on fiberglass material, wallboard,
spackling compounds, or plaster are subject to
accelerated wear and possible premature failure because
the fiberglass chips and grindings are highly abrasive to
bearings, brushes, commutators, etc. Consequently, we
do not recommended using this tool for extended work
on these types of materials. However, if you do work with
any of these materials, it is extremely important to clean
the tool using compressed air.
Instead, take the batteries to a Trend Service Agent,
your local Trend Stockist or a local recycling station. If
necessary contact your local municipality for disposal
information. The collected batteries will be disposed of
properly and/or used for recycling purposes.
Proper hand position requires one hand on the main grip
as shown.

NOTICE: Avoid overloading your sander. Overloading
will result in a considerable reduction in speed and finish
quality of your work. The unit may also become hot. In
this event, run sander at a no load condition for a minute
or two.
Attaching the Dust Spout Adaptor
- (Fig. 7a)
While holding the sander, t the dust spout adaptor into
the dust port.
Always keep your sander clean, regularly clean out the
ventilation slots.
Always keep the dust extraction holes in the vibrating
plate free of dirt or other obstructions.
Connect to a suitable dust extractor via the dust
extractor dust hose and a power tool adaptor.

the surface being sanded, letting the sander do the
work.

To Empty the Dust Bag
NOTE: Be sure to wear approved eye protection and

slows the removal rate and produces an inferior quality
surface. Be sure to check your work often, this sander
is capable of removing material rapidly, especially with
coarse paper.
Cleaning
GUARANTEE
The unit carries a manufacturers guarantee in accordance
with the conditions on the enclosed guarantee card.
For efficient dust extraction, empty the dust collector
when it is about one third full.
WARNING: Blow dirt and dust out of
the main housing with dry air as often as dirt is seen
collecting in and around the air vents. Wear approved
eye protection and approved dust mask when
performing this procedure.
While holding the sander, remove dust box from the
sander and gently shake or tap the dust box to empty.
Reattach the dust bag back onto the dust port.
The rate at which the dust bag fills up will vary with the
type of material being sanded and the coarseness of the
sandpaper. For best results, empty the bag frequently.
When sanding painted surfaces you may find that the
sandpaper loads up and clogs with paint.

WARNING: Never use solvents or other
harsh chemicals for cleaning the non-metallic parts of
the tool. These chemicals may weaken the materials
used in these parts. Use a cloth dampened only with
water and mild soap. Never let any liquid get inside the
tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.
