Reference Input (Ext Ref Loop) Error/Alarm Condition
The reference input forces the router to comply with RP-168 during a switch
if present. If there is no reference present or the reference is incompatible, the
router will display a service-affecting error (RED).
If an error/alarm condition occurs and the user chooses to switch to a different
path, the switch will occur immediately and will not comply to RP-168.
If the user does not want to use a reference input and also does not want the
error/alarm condition to be shown, they have the option to ignore that error
status by using the Status tab to ignore the status message. This will cause the
RED LEDs to not show red and the status badge indicator to not display.
Note: Not all video signals can be used as a reference. Table 3-2 lists the RP-168
compatible video signals. Non-supported references will not switch within the
RP-168 timing window.
