Chapter 3: Geꢁng started  

4. Connect the power cord to the Power port on the rear of your G34/G36.  

5. Plug the other end of the power cord into an electrical wall outlet that is not controlled  

by a wall switch.  

Note: This automaꢀcally powers ON your G34/G36. There may be up to a 15  

second delay for the LED on the G34/G36 front panel to light up aſter the power  

is connected.  

Although your computer may already be conꢂgured to automaꢀcally access the Internet,  

you should sꢀll perform the following connecꢀvity test to verify that the devices were  

connected properly.  

6. Power ON the computer connected to your G34/G36 if it is turned off, and then log in.  

7. Contact your service provider to acꢀvate (provision) the G34/G36. You may have to  

provide the HFC MAC ID listed on the Wi‑Fi cable modem label.  

8. Enter your service provider’s web browser URL:  

■ Comcast/Xꢂnity: hꢀp://www.xꢂnity.com/acꢃvate  

■

■

Cox: hꢀp://www.cox.com/acꢃvate  

Spectrum: hꢀp://spectrum.net/selꢂnstall  

9. Aſter the G34/G36 is provisioned (or acꢀvated), open a web browser (such as Internet  

Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) on your computer.  

10. Click www.surꢅoard.com or type a valid URL in the address bar and then press Enter.  

The ARRIS SURFboard website or your URL of choice should open. If the website fails to  

open, please contact your service provider for assistance.  

11. Check that the front panel LED on the G34/G36 lights up in sequenꢀal order. See Front  

panel (page 12) for addiꢀonal LED status informaꢀon.

If the LED did not light up and you do not have an Internet connecꢀon, you may have  

to contact your service provider to reacꢀvate the G34/G36 or check for signal issues.

If you sꢀll cannot connect to the Internet, please call ARRIS Technical Support at
